Since 1990s, architects have pursued the creative form using a design process of program, diagram, and form without constraints of typology. In modern architecture, the process of program and diagram have been applied, but have not had significant influence in creating an effective form. Due to interpretation of the program as only a list of functions and inclination to keep within the constraints of predetermined frame, the diagram failed to recognize the needed space. Through this study, the program of contemporary architecture has shown various aspects of complex characteristics that reflect on areas such as behavioral, environmental, and social science. In order to express visually, contemporary architects are in quest of constructing an actual form with dynamic diagram that reflects its relationship among other programs into a space within a diagram. In conclusion, the creation of an open form is affected by the interpretation of program. An architect has to recognize the diverse characteristics of certain society and respond to changes by modifying the interpretation and designing of architectural program. |
