As an effort to improve the residence stability of original residents living in land development projects districts, this research seeks to investigate the determinants of which forces may influence on original residents' resettlement after the completion of development projects by considering the primary characteristics, actual habitation, and resettlement plan of those residents. As a way of preliminary investigation, the researchers conducted surveys and interviews with them who formerly resided in Sejong development district. For increasing the effectiveness of the survey, twenty members of the community association for livelihood in the district were asked to participate in the survey. Taking account of the fact that more than half of the original residents in the district have been moved out to other areas, interviewees were classified into two groups, one currently living in the district and the other moving out. With this classification, this paper analyzes the commonality and differences between those two groups. Based upon the results of the survey, the paper analyzes the correlation between whether or not the interviewees have resettlement plans and twenty two residents' characteristics and finds the factors influencing on resettlement. In conclusion, five factors out of twenty two do not have a considerable effect on resettlement and one is not statistically significant. Additionally, after reclassifying the significant factors into demographic, social, economic, living and other factors, the paper analyzes correlations between those factors and resettlement and discovers the determinants of resettlement. |
