대학캠퍼스는 인류의 역사 발전과 더불어 성장 발전해왔으며, 도시의 변화특성과 연관성을 가지고 발전해왔다. 특히 시대적 특성을 반영하는 마스터플랜은 대학의 국제적 성장을 모색하는 오늘날 이를 상징하는 주요 역할을 하고 있다. 이와 함께 대학의 고유한 가치와 특성을 극대화 하기 위하여 그동안 건축적 측면에서 반영되어오던 디자인 또는 계획 양상이 단지 및 도시설계의 측면에서 또한 반영을 시도하고 있는 시점에 본 연구를 통해 국내 대표적인 캠퍼스의 분석과 대학의 마스터플랜 경향에서 나타나는 캠퍼스간 공간구성 전략을 살펴보았다. 본 연구를 통해 도출한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 캠퍼스를 형성하는 원형공간의 특성은 오랜 역사적 배경을 통해 발전해 왔으며, 특히 쿼드, 시각적 초점, 축 등의 주요 요소는 원형의 개념에서 도시의 발전과 함께 진화하고 있다. 둘째, 대학캠퍼스 설계 양상이 서구의 영향을 받아 발전하고 있으며, 이는 서구화 되어가는 우리사회의 변화양상과도 연관지어 볼 수 있다. 셋째, 대학캠퍼스의 설계 양상이 진일보한 경향을 보여주고 있으나 서구대학의 캠퍼스 마스터플랜과는 아직까지 상당한 차이를 보이며, 이는 캠퍼스 발전의 시간적 차이에 원인을 둘 수 있다. 넷째, 대학의 종합적인 가치를 모색하기 위한 캠퍼스간 공유할 수 있는 마스터플랜 전략이 아직까지는 소구의 대학에서 나타나고 있으며, 이와 같은 전략보다는 각각의 캠퍼스별 구성요소의 원형공간을 확보하는데 치중하는 경향을 보이고 있다. |

The university campus has been developed along with the historical development of mankind, and it has been improved in association with the characteristics of urban changes. In particular, the master plan reflecting periodic characteristics is playing crucial roles in symbolizing this today that we grope for international growth of universities. Along with this, in order to maximize the unique value and characteristics of universities, at this point that we are also trying to reflect the aspects of design and planning that have been reflected from the architectural aspects so far in the perspective of complex and urban design, this study analyzes representative campuses in Korea and examines the space construction strategies of campuses shown in the trends of university master plans. The results gained from this study are as shown below: first, the characteristics of circular space forming a campus have been developed through the long historical background. In particular, the chief elements like the quad, visual focus, or axis have been evolving along with the urban development from the concept of circle. Second, the aspects of university campus design are developing with the influence of the West, and we can see this associated with the changes of our society becoming westernized. Third, although design aspects of university campuses are showing progressive aspects, it still shows significant difference from the campus master plan of Western universities. And the reason of this can be found from the time difference of campus development. Fourth, master plan strategies that can be shared among campuses to grope for the general value of universities are still showing in the universities of the West. Rather than these strategies, they tend to focus more on securing the circular space of components in each of the campuses. |
