Purpose: To attract foreign patient is authorized by medical law from 2009. Since then hospital's interest about JCI accreditation is getting higher. It is essential that hospital facilities satisfy the JCI standards for accreditation. But JCI accreditaion standards for hospitals have not clear relationship with the criteria of architectural facilities. Purpose of this study is to make a architectural design guideline for JCI Accreditation especially ward of hospitals. Methods: Considering JCI Accreditation Standards for Hospitals, architectural elements of ward design have derived. Research team visited A university medical center and studied architectural elements about JCI Accreditation Standards for Hospitals. Results: Architectural elements based on JCI Accreditation Standards for Hospitals have been classified ; 'Prevention and Control of Infection' and 'Facility Management and Safety'. Implications: It will be baseline data when hospitals be remodeled or planed for JCI accreditation in the future. |
