¿ä¾à2 This study investigated the effects of housing assistance programs on low-income families¡¯ perceived health status and spending through the policy evaluations. Using the three waves (11th-13th) of the Korea Welfare Panel Study (2016-2018), the results showed: 1) Living in permanent rental housing contributes to exacerbating low-income households¡¯ health status. 2) The health status of residents in permanent rental housing and households receiving housing allowances in private rental housing was relatively poorer than those of the comparison groups. 3) The major factors impacting the health status and spending of low-income households are residential environment, residential stability, and if they receive housing allowances. The effective collaboration of housing assistance, medical allowance, and food vouchers programs may facilitate in low-income families investing in emergency health spending in the short-term, as well as engaging in healthy eating habits and exercise in the long-term.
