Ensuring the seismic safety of safety-related equipment in nuclear power plants is crucial, as damage to these equipment can lead to serious accidents. Key safety-related equipment includes MCC(Motor Control Center), Switchgear, Inverter and Battery charger. Research was conducted to assess the seismic performance and limit states of these components. Previous experimental studies mainly focused on major components, rather than on actual electrical cabinets used in nuclear power plants, due to the size and capacity limitations of shaking tables. This study sought to perform a fragility analysis by testing actual equipment, to examine the critical accelerations and failure modes of the specimens. Specifically, the seismic fragility tests using a 3-axis shaking table evaluated the limit states of four electrical cabinets used in nuclear power plants. |
