¿ä¾à2 Purpose: This study aims to examine and analyze the case of Leipzig, Germany, which successfully implemented urban regeneration through the restoration and development of urban forests. From an ecological perspective in architecture and urban planning, this research seeks to identify strategies and specific planning elements for urban regeneration that facilitate the creation of urban forests. Method: This study is conducted through a literature review and field research on Leipzig¡¯s urban forest projects implemented as part of its ecological and green-friendly city initiatives. The research focuses on analyzing the transformation of Leipzig¡¯s representative urban parks, Clara-Zetkin-Park and Lene-Voigt-Park, as well as the urban space forming a green network that encircles the inner city in a circular structure, with these two parks serving as central axes. Result: The key findings of this study are as follows: First, enhancing the potential value of existing parks by transforming them into ecological parks.
Second, utilizing urban spaces for the development of urban forests. Third, ensuring that urban forest development harmonizes with existing urban structures while establishing a long-term master plan that connects green spaces.
Fourth, if large-scale urban forests are not feasible, implementing a decentralized approach by creating small-scale pocket parks in densely populated residential areas.
